Opening Night Cut Short!
There was plenty of excitement in the pits at the Perth Motorplex last night as the Junior Formula 500's got ready to kick off the Fast Friday racing series.
Unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas, giving the drivers only one opportunity to play on the clay before rain bought it to a premature halt.
The opening heat was a great example of how well the Junior drivers can drive to the conditions, a great fight throughout the field with Tyler Pigdon (Pigdon Race Team) setting the pace and claiming his first ever heat race win, defeating Max Lang (Max Lang Racing) and Deegan Wood (Woodys Racing).
With the cancellation of the rest of the night, teams were forced to pack up early, with focus now shifting to Albany Speedway next weekend for the second round of the Roadline Civil Contractors West Coast Series.
