Formula 500s Western Australia
The First Road Trip!
Just one week after the Formula 500’s made their 2025/26 season debut, they are back at it again just a week later, with the Roadline Civil Contractors West Coast Series travelling up to Geraldton City Speedway for Round One thanks to Precise Suspensions & Automotive.
In what will be the Formula 500’s first appearance at the venue in a number of years, a solid thirteen car field has nominated, and given the quality of drivers throwing their hat in the ring it should be a great show.
Defending champion of the West Coast Series is Cody Turacchio (Cody Turacchio Motorsports) and after kickstarting his new season campaign in the best possible way with a win last weekend, he comes in as a hot favourite this weekend.
Last year’s second place getter Brendan Newmarch is not in the field this weekend, but the final podium getter in Brendon Marshman (Opal Finance F500 Racing) certainly is and he is hungry to make his way back up onto the top step.
State Champion Rhys Cumming (RJC Motorsport) did all but one of the series shows last season and came home sixth overall, so will be looking to get the WA1 machine at the front quickly to set the tone for the season, while former WA Champion David Sinagra (Sinagra Motorsport) did all but two of the West Coast Series shows last season to finish ninth overall and will be looking forward to a big result in the #80.
Many of the West Coast Series regulars are back in the field once again: top ten finishers including Troy Samwell (fifth last season) and Darren Rodwell are back in the field and keen to build on their previous results while other former West Coast Series including Scotty and Alex Dewers and Dylan Sutherland (Sutho Motorsports) also return to the fold.
Logan Harris (LSJ Motorsports) and Debbie Garland (Woodys Racing) were in the top fifteen last season so would love to climb their way up the ranks, while Rodney Jamieson (Rod Jamieson Motorsport ) joins the ranks for the first time, while last year’s Junior West Coast Series Champion Todd Pages also makes his senior debut this weekend.
It will be a huge night of racing this Saturday night at Geraldton!
