Cumming Aims Higher for 2025/2026
Fresh off a strong 2024/25 season that delivered plenty of highlights — including the coveted WA Formula 500 Title — Rhys Cumming is ready to go again, with his eyes set on even stronger results in 2025/26.
Last season brought a mix of standout performances and valuable lessons. Despite mistakes along the way, Cumming and his team proved their ability to compete at the top level, consistently delivering results that kept them among the very best.
“We had a very strong season with many good results but also many mistakes. We’ll be looking for better results and even stronger finishes than last season.”
The results featured just one feature race win, but it was the one that mattered, being the WA Title, while Rhys was also on the podium a total of ten times, third most in the State. Central to Cumming’s success is the dedication of his hard-working crew. Their experience and commitment to refining car setup for any track or condition has been the backbone of the team’s consistency.
“The reason we were so successful and consistent is because of my hard-working crew guys giving me a car that could compete at any track, at any level, with any condition. The boys really showed their experience and their drive to keep learning more about the car and the tracks we race at.”
For Cumming, each feature win carries shared meaning:
“The feature wins mean just as much to me as they do to my crew. To give me a car to race with some of the best in the country is an achievement in itself.”
Looking ahead, the 2025/26 season is about raising the bar. The team’s plan is simple: stay consistent, aim higher, and push hard for season points — while making sure to enjoy the ride along the way.
“The plan for this season is just to be better than last season while having a good time and some fun, but also staying focused when needed. We’ve got a long season ahead, so we’ll try to keep our results consistent for the season points.”
